Hello kids! I am missing you so much! There are just not enough hugs without you. And I don't get sat on and jumped on half as much :) I have been doing a little bit of teaching, but now it is the Easter holidays. I will be going to Lake Tekapo with my family. We will go ice-skating and to the hot pools. I wish you could come! I know Cheri especially would like to go ice-skating. I will take some photos for you.

On Monday I had a meeting with your sponsors. They were happy to hear you were doing so well, and hope they will be able to come visit you some time in the future. Next week I will go to Life church to talk about you and show pictures of you on the big screen. Yes, BIG pictures of all you girls, Eek! The sponsors would also like to hear your Power Pack CD sometime.

Bai Baan (Going home)

Hi everyone,
This is P. Rebecca, writing my final blog from BSF. Tommorow I will fly home to NZ, and Joel and Brittny will leave for Washington.
Thank you to everyone who has read, posted and commented on the blog this year. I am hoping that the new English teacher, Kru Jean, will keep the blog going, if it is something she wants to do. I will check in regularly, to see how the kids are going.So keep up the blogging!

Conference

Last night was a lovely time when Hope, Sarah and Peach got home from the conference at church. They came into the kitchen and were buzzing about their experience with the Holy Spirit. Peach told me all about how she was prayed for and how it felt to experience the presence of God. The girls talked about how the pastors prayed for their futures. I was so proud of them and their openness to God, and willingness to pray for others. Our young ladies are so special and growing up so fast! This year the girls will be going out of the home to a new school. Pray for them to continue to grow in God, and to make wise choices, as they go out into a challenging situation.I know they will be bright lights to shine for Jesus wherever they are!

Hello everyone! Thanks for the posts you have added. The children get so excited when they see a new message! Also, thank you for all the cards and letters. The kids love to receive them, even if they can't send replies straight away.
We are all very happy to be on holiday here. The first term started in May, so October will be a much needed rest time. It will also be a time for us to recuperate. You probably know there have been a lot of colds going around. Plenty of coughs, fevers and runny noses. It all seems very strange to me in this kind of heat! Sammy spent four days in hospital this week, and is now staying at Malee's home so he doesn't catch any more infections from other sick children. P. Joel has also been in hospital, after his cold turned into a lung infection. Praise God, he and Brittany are both well now, and are taking a short break in Malaysia. We pray it will be a restful time for them. I am over the worst of my cold and most of the kids are on the mend. Thank you for your prayers. We know God's covering is over our home.
The children are having a nice time with Uncle Murray from NZ. So far there has been soccer, cricket and bike-riding. Yesterday, Uncle Murray taught a programme on Noah's Ark. The kids really got into building the ark and pretending to be animals for the play. Aunty Brigette also came and baked pretzels with some of the children. The ingredients made things a little tricky, but they got there in the end. There was also hot chocolate and a fruit cake dessert.
Grade 5 and 6 will be practising a puppet play, and hope to share it at church on Sunday.
The teachers hope to get a lot of planning done for next term over the break. Some brief reports on the children's progress will be sent out shortly.
We all want to say a big thank you for your support. Having new children come in helps us appreciate what a difference this home is making for the lives of our kids. Because of everyone involved, their futures are full of hope and potential. We appreciate all your prayers and pray for you everyday.

Thanks for your posts. The children really enjoyed recieving them and will write back soon. When Joel and Brittany arrive, I am hoping each grade can have atleast an hour to use the computers each week, so they will be able to write more.
We are so looking forward to the teams that are coming too!

Hi all

The last two weeks have been very busy for me and the children. I have had my parents and two sisters visit BSF. I was teaching most days but had a few days off to show them the sights around the city. They so loved meeting the children, getting to know them, and hanging out in the classroom. Everyone who comes to the home is struck by how loving and special our kids here are. I was happy my family got a chance to know them. I am sure the team coming in August will also have a wonderful time here, and will get to meet our 5 new children!

Rebecca here. Thanks for your messages. It has been a lovely relaxing holiday for the kids but we have been a little slack on the BLOG... I would like the children to post some replies early next week. They can tell you what they have been up tp over the holidays. One week to go!
This week I have spent a lot of time at immigration and City Hall with Malee. It seems my work permit will come through, (pending good behaviour) meaning I can stay for a year (atleast).
The kids laptop has been out of action so I apologize is there are too many unanswered emails. Will get on to that ASAP.
The kids love getting your messages so keep in touch :)
