Holiday!

Hi everyone! We have just had a lovely surprise break this week. We were unexpectedly told to take off 3 days for Buddhist holidays...but we are not complaining. What did we get up to? Monday was a rainy day, so we played lots of fun indoors games. P.Britteny and P.Joel have lots of ideas for fun new games. In one game we have to pretend to be an egg, and a dragon! They also taught us a new card game.

Tuesday was a fun and full-on day. All of the children and staff went to the Central mall. The kids played in the ball-park, on the carousel and on the video games. It was very noisey! Next it was off to KFC for lunch and then our favourite...Swensons ice-cream parlour!!!!

Yesterday we got to go on another adventure. It was a special day celebrating birthdays for P. Joel, Hannah and P. Lena (a volunteer). First we went to Horizon Village, an amazing topiary park. We saw amazing hedges shaped like everything from bunnies, deer and flying birds, to life sized dinosaurs and water spouting dragons! There was even a giant maze for us to get lost in! We played on the playground and saw some animals, like peacocks, iguana and camels!

When all the children had escaped from the maze, we hurried to The Empress Hotel for a fabulous Buffet lunch. They have the best mashed potatoe, Italian food and sushi! With so many desserts and so much ice-cream, I think there were a few sore bellies! For a surprise, we were given a beautiful birthday cake, and all sang to P. Joel, P.Lena and Hannah. Hannah blew out the candles.

Back home, to have a snooze. Then another treat! Off to the Night Safari to see the animals. The children saw an elephant show and got their photo taken with the elephant doing tricks. After that we visited the tigers, iguana and the ponies. It was hot but so much fun! We love animals. There were some very sleepy children on the way home in the van!
